Nancy Mbatika
In love with words and history, Nancy Mbatika unveils this keepsake journal in english, a book to offer to the inspiring women around you. Born to a Congolese father and a Quebecois mother, she developed a passion for family stories on both sides of the Atlantic at an early age. During a trip to the Congo, she discovered the power of oral transmission by her elders and the power of sharing knowledge. Her studies in linguistics and history revealed her passion for writing. This book is an inspiring testimony of inestimable value to all.
The success of her book and the power behind her mission led Nancy Mbatika to become a speaker and facilitator of Reminiscence Workshops.
Spark Your Mind
Spark Your Mind for moderate dementia is a collection of 50+ activities and games adapted for people with a cognitive disorder such as Alzheimer's. It has been specifically designed with health care professionals to propose relevant themes and an appropriate level of difficulty.
Marie-Pier Vaudry
Marie-Pier Vaudry is the author of Spark Your Mind. In 2012, Marie-Pier Vaudry’s mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. She’d always loved spending hours doing crossword puzzles and sudokus, but as her illness progressed, Marie-Pier struggled to find activities adapted to her changing abilities.
Marie-Pier took matters into her own hands and spent the next few years working with healthcare professionals (experts in neurology, neuropsychology, geriatric speech therapy, physiotherapy & optometry) to create activity books for seniors with Alzheimer’s.
